Coming Up Week 4

This week, we celebrated the Middle and Senior School Opening Mass and Year 12 Commissioning at Riverlife, welcoming our Year 12 parents to join in this milestone with their sons.

Today, the Junior School Opening Mass was held in NJ Hall, followed by the Junior School Interhouse Swimming Carnival. These two events were a wonderful way to finish the week as a community.

A special thank you to our College Chaplain, Father John Gillen, for celebrating Mass. We also extend our gratitude to Dean of Faith and Mission, Ms. Kate Garrone, and Mrs. Helen Hicks for their organization, along with all the staff and students who contributed to the success of both the Mass and the commissioning.

We are looking forward to Week 6 - Camp Week. Letters outlining details of the camps for Years 4 to 10 have been emailed from camps@atc.qld.edu. Be sure to check your email and the app for further information. Please remember to complete and return the medical information sent out last week.

AFL

ATC AFL players relished Round 1 against St Pat's Shorncliffe and our three top players got a shout out in the media. Well done to Bailey, Spencer and Stephen! News Corp reported that Bailey was the link man, and his clean hands and decision making helped going forward. Spencer had an outstanding game up forward, kicking three goals and looked like he was capable of breaking the game open. Stephen was a sensational centre half back and rarely lost an aerial contest, and gave a special performance.

Cricket - First XI

Last Saturday, the ATC First XI began the season in true Irish Warrior style. Led by the opening attack of Ted, Lincoln & Callum, the Blue, Green, White sensationally tore through the Padua batting line up, to dismantle them for just 30. A couple of blinks & the game was over as the boys from the 4068 chased down the total, with 9 wickets still in the shed. Congratulations to the squad on an outstanding victory that has them sitting in first place on the AIC ladder after Round 1. We look forward to watching the squad continue their march this weekend vs Villanova College.
