After a fortnight of disruption, students and staff have enjoyed a welcome return to the regular rhythm of school life. Collectively, we have 'caught up' as a community.
At assembly, we belatedly celebrated International Women’s Day. Ms Garrone reminded us about the word "upstanding" from our Courage framework. She asked students to recognize the dignity of women and to champion respect in our school community.
I also enjoyed the presentation of the Junior and Middle School Student Representative Council delegates. I look forward to their positive contributions to school culture as they learn, lead, and serve as agents for their peers.
Over the next couple of weeks, our focus will centre on learning. Students will benefit from developing a regular rhythm of study as they complete assessments and exams. The learning office has released exam timetables, and I encourage parents and caregivers to review Parent Lounge and contact teachers if they need clarification.
Today, our Swimming Team competes at the Associated Independent Colleges (AIC) championships at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre. The event was postponed due to Cyclone Alfred. We wish our team every success. This afternoon, we also welcomed guests from Japan. Students from Konan Elementary School enjoyed an assembly with our students before heading off with host families for a homestay. ATC has a long history of cultural exchange with Konan, and a group of our students are excited to reciprocate when they travel to Japan later in the year.

ATC People and Places | Siobhan Brophy Reflects
"After countless meetings, discussions and collaborations, I found myself standing on the first day of ATC at the back of NJ Hall with founding Principal, Michael Senior. On this day, the entire school community—Year 4 to 7—gathered in the one hall. I recall turning to Michael and saying, 'Well, Michael, you’ve done it. You’ve led the founding of a school, and ATC is here.' Michael smiled and nodded before replying, 'Siobhan, this is only the very beginning.' And it truly was. Over the past ten years, I have watched the school grow and evolve. As the sole counsellor in those early days, I have now become part of a dedicated team of three, a reflection of the school’s commitment to student well-being and support. The buildings, once just bricks and mortar, have transformed into something far greater. They hold memories, evolving friendships, and invaluable lessons that have shaped us all. I have been a part of some incredible opportunities that have come with growth, including a wider variety of clubs, enhanced facilities, and expanded subject options. The growth of ATC has been a sign of progress. Ultimately, this progress over the decade has allowed not only the school to thrive but has also provided opportunities for personal and professional growth. By embracing this evolution, I have gained invaluable experiences and new opportunities for development."

Update on Senior Jerseys Distribution
Due to the unforeseen delay of Claddagh, caused by Cyclone Alfred, we will now be distributing the Senior Jerseys on the last day of term. We understand that the delay has been disappointing for some, and we appreciate your understanding and patience during this time.
Thank you for your cooperation and support.
Student Representative Council (SRC)
We acknowledge and congratulate the Junior School Student Representatives and the new Student Representative Council (SRC) members for Years 8 and 9.
Leadership is present in many forms and the ability to lead by example, supports our 2025 Senior Theme – Stronger Together. Everyone has the ability to lead. It is simply - an active and intentional choice that someone makes in order to leave a person, situation or community in a better place than they found it.
International Women's Day
Ambrose Treacy College proudly acknowledges International Women’s Day! Today, and every day, we celebrate the incredible women in our community who inspire us as leaders, role models, and colleagues. Queensland Bulls Player of the Year, Jack Clayton

COMMUNITY
Request for Support – Dash for Crash Sunday 25 May
As ATC celebrates its 10th Anniversary Year, we plan events and activities that reflect our values and vision. These events are designed to bring us together, to celebrate our shared history, and to look forward to the exciting possibilities that lie ahead. We encourage you to participate, to share your stories, and contribute to the vibrant tapestry that makes Ambrose Treacy College unique.
The 5th Dash for Crash event, supporting the Ambrose Treacy College Foundation, honours the memory of Damien McMenimen. Damien valued his Edmund Rice education and enrolled his sons at ATC. We organise this event to enhance educational opportunities at Ambrose Treacy College, with the goal of expanding this community initiative to benefit everyone involved. By fostering a spirit of collaboration and support, we aim to create a lasting impact that enriches the lives of our students, families, and the broader community.
We hold this event to support the provision of education opportunities at ATC and aim to grow this community event for the benefit of all. The McMenimen family have contributed much of the human power behind the event, and it is now time for the ATC Community to join the effort. We kindly seek your help with the various preparation tasks and ask you to contact Marie McMenimen dashforcrash@gmail.com or Lou Evans evansl@atc.qld.edu.au at the College. We seek support with sponsorship, donations, and preparatory tasks.
