This blog marks the completion of my first semester at ATC. It was a wonderful experience which I thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you for welcoming me into this community. I look forward to deepening my relationship with staff, students and their families over the coming years and achieving more great things with everyone.
Tuesday’s final assembly was a fabulous way to conclude the term. Most pleasing was the high number of students who presented various agenda items relating to faith, formation, service, sport, the arts and learning. Many of these are detailed in the blog. ATC is a vibrant place, and sharing our success reinforces our pillars of service, learning and leadership. Students listening to the performances, achievements and ideas of their peers, rather than just from teachers, also builds student agency and voice.
While we’re close to the end there’s an important assessment week ahead. I encourage all students to be the best they can be by preparing for exams and submitting their assignments ahead of the reporting period.

Year 11 Leadership Retreat
An essential part of the leadership journey for our 2025 College Seniors is the Leadership Retreat on Thursday 11 July and Friday 12 July.
The retreat is a compulsory 2-day event to be held at Riverlife Church Centre – 47 Jennifer Street, Seventeen Mile Rocks. The students will be invited to volunteer to cook a Brothers Breakfast with Brendan Flanagan from 7am on both mornings of the retreat. Arrival time for all other students is 7.30am.
Leadership Retreat is very different to a normal ‘camp experience.’ This will be an opportunity for students to connect, collaborate and build capacity for leadership. The two days offer guest presenters and their leadership stories, targeted workshops and building team and individual agency in the hope of empowering our students to embrace the role of ‘leaving the College in a better place than they found it’. Finally, Leadership Retreat will explore themes relating to their Year 12 journey; as an individual and as part of the wider cohort. These include accountability, responsibility, unity, respect for themselves and reaching potential. It is hoped that the retreat will further strengthen a strong sense of community and a unified team approach to leading in 2025.
Students will be briefed on the expectations and logistics later this term, with the retreat taking place in Week 1 of Term 3.
Further details will be shared on the College App on Monday evening 10 June.

Best of luck to our students this week with their upcoming exams and assessments. Our Westcourt iCentre has been buzzing again this Term as our Middle and Senior School students continued their learning and study at Homework Club. All students across the Middle and Senior school can access Homework Club, which is facilitated by wonderful members of the ATC teaching staff, offering advice and assistance with assignments, homework and learning questions. Great to see ATC students putting in the hard work, coming into the busy end of term. Last week was the last week for Homework Club this term, but we know we will see many of these diligent students back next term. Be sure to go to the College app for Exam schedules.

CLUBS
Ant-ticipate the Extraordinary: The works of our Junior School Art Club will leave you buzzing with excitement! Members of the Art Club embarked on a fascinating project where students delved into the world of bugs, sketching imaginative designs for their own creepy creatures. They brought these designs to life in 3D using paper pulp and papier-mâché techniques. Their next focus was on adding vibrant colors and intricate decorative details, turning their creatures into fly-tastic artworks.
