Elevate Your Education with Commitment and Persistence

Over the next couple of weeks, our Middle and Senior School students will participate in Elevate Education Workshops designed to assist with time management, study skills, and goal setting. Parents also have access to free webinars from Elevate, and we encourage families to engage with these to support their son's academic journey. Remember, small changes can lead to significant improvements with commitment and persistence. I encourage all our students at ATC to focus on the small changes they can make in 2025. What a fantastic start to the year we've had, recognising our 2024 Scholars and Academic Awards winners from Semester 2, 2024. These events inspire all our students to reflect on how they will approach the academic year ahead.

Our Middle and Junior School Assemblies showcased numerous students who excelled and achieved their personal best in Semester Two, 2024. It was heartening to see so many families and guests sharing in this event with us.

Jacob Cheung, our 2024 College Dux, shared his journey through school, emphasizing the importance of upholding his values through his words and actions. He reiterated that school is a place for learning, where he could ask questions, understand mistakes, and develop a strategy that worked for him. Jacob recommended the book “A Mind for Numbers” by Barbara Oakley, highlighting how its techniques and knowledge can be applied to any subject. I'm sure the copy in Westcourt has already been borrowed. Jacob also recommended leaning into the supports, opportunities, and relationships formed at ATC. From competition with classmates to the support of his teachers and involvement in the College Music program, Jacob found his drive and motivation to succeed—oh and to beat his dad’s English results!

It is always wonderful to have our Scholars return to campus. In his address to students, Tate Matthews emphasized the importance of following a pathway that aligns with individual goals and aspirations. We have many students putting their VET qualifications to great use this year. We are incredibly proud of this cohort's achievements and look forward to what our graduates will accomplish in the future.
