New Encounters and Life Challenges

This week we see over 1000 ATC students attend their respective camp or retreat. I wish everyone all the best for a positive, relationship building, fun week. I thank our generous staff for their dedication in providing these wonderful experiences for our young people.

I certainly hope every student this week benefits from the experiences and challenges that camp week will provide. There is the chance to encounter self, encounter others, encounter nature and encounter something new, challenging, different or just have plain old good fun. May the week provide memories they will keep talking about and reflecting on. Year 4 appear to be enjoying themselves on the first day.

College Strategic Plan 2024-2028

The fifth and final strategic objective for our new College Strategic Plan is: PROVIDING EXCEPTIONAL FACILITIES, SERVICES AND HUMAN RESOURCES STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES.

As we enter our 10th year, there is still much ahead for the community in the way of developing our capital and human resources as we grow and consolidate. The College remains on active land watch with the intention of a strategic acquisition. The site masterplan has numerous projects to complete in the next decade (our teenage years!)

We greatly look forward to the competition of the Waterford and Tipperary precinct projects this year. Fourteen more classrooms, a 200 seat lecture theatre, a second hospitality teaching space, second drama teaching space, extensive staff offices and rooms and large under croft facility in the senior school will be welcome additions to our resources. Thank you to the ATC community, past, present and future for your ongoing contribution to these important facilities.

  • Continue to conduct annual reviews and update where necessary the Ambrose Treacy College Capital Master Plan ensuring all projects are planned and delivered on time and within budget.
  • Ensure that short-, medium-, and long term financial planning is sufficient to secure the ongoing sustainability and delivery of the College’s maintenance and Capital Master Plan.
  • Continue to review and critique the College’s human resources needs, roles and structures and implement findings through considered consultation, timely communication, and responsible stewardship.
  • Continue to research and explore options for off campus sporting fields with a view for this transaction to be finalised within this Strategic Plan’s life cycle.
  • Target the College’s aspirational net carbon emissions to reduce to zero by 2030.

College Tour

It was fantastic last week to see over 300 people attend our first College Tour of the year. Enrolments are getting very tight at ATC, which reflects so many wonderful things happening across the College. I continue to be full of gratitude to our families for the positive words being spread across the wider community about ATC. Most of our visitors are here on the back of the positive messages they are hearing from our current families.

Please note that if you have a sibling that you intend to come to ATC, I encourage you to contact our Head of Enrolments, Ms Robyn Donaldson on 07 3878 0505 or by email if you are interested in future enrolment. Waiting lists are forming across many year levels, so it is important that families complete an enrolment package if they are intending to enrol at ATC.

Community Prayers

Lord, we pray for those in our community who are suffering. Be with them in this time of hardship and uncertainty. Give comfort and peace to those who have lost loved ones. May their sorrow be turned into strength, and their distress turned into peace. May our hearts remain loving and pure as we seek to always be compassionate to those around us.

God Bless.
